- To get started, click on the Register button in the top right corner of each page.
- Fill in the short form to create your account. There is no charge to create your account.
- You will receive a confirmation email with your UserName and Password.
- Login and begin your first Online Reference Check. It’s that Easy!
Setting Up Your Reference Check Survey
- Once you log in to the Online Reference Check survey platform, you will enter the name of the individual or company for whom you wish to check references.
- Next, you will be given the opportunity to choose from one of our pre-populated surveys or to create your own from scratch. If you like one of the pre-populated surveys but would like to change, add or delete questions, you can easily make changes to the survey. Most customers choose to start with a pre-populated template and then make changes to meet their specific needs, industry or job.
- Once you have completed your survey, you will name the survey so that you can find it and use it again for another reference in the future.
- You can create as many different surveys as you wish.
Sending Out Your Reference Check Survey
- When your survey is ready to send out, enter in the names and email addresses of as many references as you wish. When checking employee or vendor references, a typical number is 3 to 5 references, but there is no limit to the number you can ask.
- Choose the date you would like to conclude the Reference Check Survey Process.
- You’re Now Ready To Send Out Your Survey.

Send Your Reference Check Survey
- Send your survey to the references that have been provided.
- Each reference will receive an email from Online Reference Check requesting that they complete the Online Reference Check on the person that has listed them as a reference. The email will contain a link to the Reference Check Survey.
- The email will provide easy-to-follow instructions on the process.
In addition to the instructions, we assure the reference of the following:
- The reference information provided is confidential.
- The reference information provided is vital to the decision making process.
- The reference information will not be used to single out any person providing a reference.
- Neither your ratings nor your specific comments will be identifiable unless you identify yourself in the comments. Please note: the report we receive replicates comments word for word, so if you feel you will be identifiable by the way you speak, please adjust accordingly.
Online Reference Check, Inc. will pool your ratings and comments with other people who have been identified to provide a reference and then send a report to us so that we can determine whether or not to move forward with this individual or company.

Review Feedback From Reference Survey
When you are ready to pull a report of the references, login the site, go to Your Surveys and find the one you are looking for. You will be able to view the report.
Once you have your references, you can combine this data with other information you might have gathered through interviews, resumes and legal background checks to make your final decision.
